Steps to troubleshoot Gmail Embedded Links
.) Before starting, make sure you are using Gmail and not Google Desktop or iGoogle for your email.
.) Instead of using internet explorer, try using the other web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla, Firefox.
.) Deactivate any popup blockers and add-ons on your web browser.
.) Clear your browsing history including cache, temp files, cookies etc.
.) Go to Gmail’s Settings and under General tab select the option Always display external content such as images send by trusted senders. If this doesn’t fix the issue, also select the option Always use https.
.) In your Internet Explorer settings, add Google to your trusted websites by going under the Security tabs located under Internet Options.
.) Disabling Antivirus software can also help fix the issues. Disable your security program and restart your web browser again to check if the problem is fixed. If this is causing the problem, you can add exceptions to your antivirus program to prevent conflicts with your other programs.
.) Reset your web browser’s setting to default and see if this fixes the issue.
.) You can also try uninstalling your internet explorer and re-installing the latest Internet explorer. Check for the problem if it gets fixed this way.
.) If you are using Google Chrome, you can try accessing your Gmail account in Incognito mode. If this fixes the problem, this means the problem could be with the extensions. To know exactly which extension is causing the problem, try disabling every extension one by one.
.) If you are looking to make Google Chrome open email links in Gmail, you can add the Send From Gmail extension in your browser. To add it, go to the Chrome Web Store and type “Send From Gmail (BY Google)” in the search bar located on the top right corner of the page. Select the Extension from the result page and click Add to Chrome button located under the name of the extension. Click Install to add the extension to your Chrome. Now, you can try clicking on email links on websites to open a new Gmail message.
So, these are some of the ways that can help you troubleshoot the Embedded Links problem in Gmail. In most of the cases, the problem would be fixed by following these steps only.
